NeoCyber - Introduction

The Multimedia Super Corridor Malaysia (MSC Malaysia) is Malaysia’s most exciting initiative for the global information and communication technology (ICT) industry. Conceptualized in 1996, the MSC Malaysia has since grown into a thriving dynamic ICT hub, hosting more than 900 multinationals, foreign-owned and home-grown Malaysian companies focused on multimedia and communications products, solutions, services and; research and development. The corridor covers 750 square kilometers (300 square miles) and is equipped with world-class physical infrastructure as well as next–generation 2.5-10 Gb multimedia network.

Cyberjaya Flagship

In the heart of MSC Malaysia lies the first truly intelligent city, Cyberjaya. It was officially launched by the Malaysia’s former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on 8th July 1999. The landmark event was witnessed by 25 of the world's top ICT personalities.

Promising to be the city of the future, Cyberjaya continues to attract leading ICT companies of the world to locate their industries in the MSC Malaysia and undertake research, develop new products and technologies and export from this base. The MSC Malaysia is also an ideal growth environment for Malaysian ICT SMEs to transform themselves into world-class companies. Furthermore, the MSC Malaysia welcomes countries to use its highly advanced infrastructural facilities as a global test bed for ICT applications and a hub for their regional operations in Asia.

Cyberjaya is approximately 30 minutes from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, 40 minutes from Kuala Lumpur and 10 minutes away from Putrajaya, the administrative capital of Malaysia.

By the end of 2006, approximately 400 companies will be operating in Cyberjaya. Companies such as NTT and TMNet are operating from their very own building. Other major companies like DHL, HSBC, Shell, BMW, EDS, Motorola, Fujitsu Ericsson, FSBM, Shell, MCMC, Nokia and Dell Inc. (completion in end-2007) have established their companies within single tenancy building, while smaller companies operate from the office buildings that have already been completed (such as Century Square and Prima Avenue).
